Katrina Bannigan (@KatrinaBannigan) is Professor of Occupational Therapy at Glasgow Caledonian University. Systematic reviews have been a key feature of her career since working at the NHS Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, University of York, to being a member of the The University Plymouth Centre for Innovations in Health and Social Care A Joanna Briggs Institute Centre of Excellence. Her involvement in systematic reviewing arose because of her interest in developing complex interventions in occupational therapy. She is currently working with students to develop the GCU work to retirement programme, an occupation based, health promotion intervention. She founded and leads the occupational therapy writing group (@otwg_gcu) which brings together occupational therapists from across the globe to write with the aim of increasing writing productivity in occupational therapy. She is the Vice-Chair of the Research & Development Board at the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.

In her keynote she will focus on GCU’s recent success in the research framework exercise and consider how this provides, in the context of the Research Centre for Health (ReaCH), a perfect platform for growing research and scholarship in occupational therapy and human nutrition.
